The Loft Project

Gallery

Our Gallery provides a platform for artists and designers to exhibit work within the intimate and comfortable surroundings of The Loft. Each year, we will be holding four different exhibitions, which change with the seasons. We hold an opening party for each exhibition and thereafter the Gallery is open in the day by appointment only, evening guests to The Loft can enjoy the work in the Gallery at their leisure.

The Death of Arthur

Photographer Rick Pushinsky likes to recreate fantastical scenes in ordinary places, using nothing very special. His aim is for reality to transcend itself like it can in the imagination.

The pictures in this exhibition are a re-imagining of the stories of King Arthur and the Round Table. Friends play the characters Merlin, Guinevere, Arthur, Lancelot, Morgan le Fay, the Lady of the Lake and the Lady of Shalott. The locations are a back garden in Stratford, the Thames at night, and the banks of the Union Canal in Hackney. Props include a twig, a copy of the Guardian, a double lilo and half a pound of apples.

Rick has shot for i-D, Closer, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph Magazine, Celebs on Sunday, You Magazine, and the Financial Times Magazine.
